On May 24th and day 2 of our trip, we went to the Omaha's Henry Doorly Zoo and the Mormon Trail Center at Winter Quarters.
Some highlights of the Zoo were:
The zebra's, they were so big. The ostriches, were very entertaining.
The elephants, they were so close, all that separated us was a moat that was about 4 feet across. If elephants could jump we would have been in T-R-O-U-B-L-E!
The sky ride, where you go over the Zoo to see everything. Just for the record I don't think it's right that I love seeing so high up yet, am absolutely terrified every time we go on one of these rides. Grace loved it and wanted to lean forward, this terrified me. Do you know easily she could have fallen out? Maybe next time she can ride with daddy, we both might enjoy it better. Mike and Michael had a grand time. I was so scared these were the only pictures I took from that high in the sky.
The world's largest indoor desert, it was never ending, and there were so many people, pushing and shoving, and no way to leave except to finish it out. Maybe if we went on a week day this wouldn't have been so never ending? It was really neat, but LONG and crowded!

Michael and Grace got to pet the goats. Once again, Grace is our fearless wonder.
These adorable little monkey things snuggling. The little one was only a couple months old.
The Hubbard Gorilla Valley was AWESOME! They were so close. This bubble was even neater because the Gorillas actually sat there and you got to feel like they were on top of you.
My sweet family! I am so glad that Mike works so hard day in and day out to be able to do fun weekend trips and for us to better learn about our area and the surrounding areas of the mid west.

When we were done with the Zoo we went to the Mormon Trail Center at Historic Winter Quarters. I am so glad that I have started reading the Work and The Glory books, they have helped me to understand church history better (even if they are not church doctrine.) It was so neat to see so many replica's of the things that I have been learning about in the books. I would recommend seeing this to anyone, it gives you such a better understanding of what the pioneers went through! The area that the Visitors center and Temple were in reminded me so much of the Mesa, AZ temple.
This is the Temple, it never ceases to amaze me of the beauty of the Temples no matter where I go.
